Considering that I’ve been painting this horizon for more than 20 years, I’m embarrassed to admit I’m not completely sure what that conical mountain is that shows up in front of the Blue Ridge when the Blue Ridge is clouded over. It could be Buck Mountain, but I think it’s Bingham Mountain, just above the Albemarle County – Greene County line. And the rains had begun.
